Kennedy Clinton Connection
I wonder what your thoughts are on this: As we all know, 50 years ago today JFK was killed. He was much loved as both a President and a person. Yet we all know that despite being a married man with children and a devout Catholic, he had many many affairs. Bill Clinton, on the other hand, gets “cozy” with an intern once and we wanted to impeach him. I am not making judgment on either of these men...I am just wondering. 50 years ago, people valued discretion and "family values" so much more than today, when morals seem to be of no concern to most. Yet Clinton is always going to be the guy who had sex in the oval office...JKF is always going to be the guy who was cut down in his prime. Thoughts??

I'm not concerned about Clinton having sex in the WH as much as I was with him being impeached and then committing perjury.
And we NEVER DID find out about WHITEWATER, did we?
Still, in an age with more information available to us 24/7/365, there's no way to escape the news, and that always seems to affect people, unless or until they can manage to get ALL the facts and not just the ones presented in order to slant the news in one direction or the other.
I do think it will become increasing harder for ANY president to "get away" with things as opposed to 50 years ago.

I'm with Bob on this one. I think we were much more "job oriented " back then... and quite frankly Jackie and Marilyn show a lot better taste than Monica. Er, I mean, we saw Jack doing a job well... not so much with Bill.
I suppose that, had Clinton suffered a fate similar to Kennedy's, then the public would have found it easier to forgive his 'private transgressions'.
History will tell how he fairs. But most history is the story told by the 'teller' and often not actual fact. I wonder who will dare to tell Obama's 'true' history?
