RIP

peter-falk-plays-columbo-playback-image-2 (2)

The Associated Press reports that Columbo peacefully died then woke back up and said "Just one more thing..." before dying again at his home in Beverly Hills, CA last night. Peter Falk was 83 years old.

Columbo is one of the best shows ever. How ironic he was best known as a forgetful detective, and became a victim of Alzheimer's

Now crime is really going to skyrocket.

I'm glad you're at peace, Lieutenant

MSN:
One of his (imho) BEST comedic roles was as the assitant (Max) of Professor Fate (Jack Lemmon) in the Tony Curtis/Natalie Wood movie THE GREAT RACE.
It still makes me laugh.

And he was also the (Grandpa) "storyteller" in THE PRINCESS BRIDE.

Oh, and "just one more thing"...

He DID get Academy Award nominations for his portrayal of "Ave Reles" in the movie MURDER, INC. (1960)and as "Joy Boy" in POCKET FULL OF MIRACLES (a Damon Runyan-based "pygmalion" movie the following year)
NO matter what part he did, he was a good solid actor that gave it all.
