Woodstock

I feel old. It is the end of an era for anyone over 50. It is the 40th anniversary of the greatest live concert in history, Woodstock. Bob Dylan got stopped by police for being a "suspicious character" and the cops don't even know who he is. I think about all we have lost as a young generation gone gray. The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Buddy Holly are just a few who gave us our first real taste of music. Gone but not forgotten, for their music lives on. Who remembers these great songs?

Please Mr Postman The Marvelettes-1961

Remember (and love) every single one of those songs...now I can;t stop humming them around the house (but it does make the chores go faster)...LOL!

Interesting thing about WOODSTOCK:
The documentary MOVIE was the ONLY film that Charlton Heston's character (Robert Neville) had available to watch in that old theater in the 1971 movie THE OMEGA MAN...ironic.
ANd he was narratring along with it...he had sen it THAT many times.

Thank the Maker for VCRs and DVDs, huh?

ANd thanks for recalling those songs.

I wasn't but an infant, but I enjoy them and always will.

You'll be happy to know two of my children can't get enough of these songs :)

I'm happy to say they will be remembered for generations.
