Regarding our children and their backpacks. The weight of just one of their books is absolutely ridiculous. It's no wonder why they give the children their books in Middle School to leave at home for their homework and then each desk is equipped with the same book for use at school. This is so the children don't have to carry around those heavy books. I believe that is a great idea and the same practice should apply in High School. Not to mention that when they do come home from school to work on their homework, I can no longer help them when they have a question, it's beyond my ability. When was it that we stopped caring about our children when it comes to school............

The peer pressure itself is over the top. Then we keep sliding them on through to the next grade only to find out that when they are a Senior in high school, they have a the reading ability of a 3rd grader. What happened to "No Child Left Behind". Is that what they mean by it?
