At lunch today I watched Fox news and the 4 stories I heard were:
1. child obesity.
2. teens are drinking hand sanitizer to get drunk.
3. a new child labor law that wouldn't let kids work on family farms or mow yards until age 18
4. we shouldn't spank our kids
I am not positive but maybe if our kids worked a little more and were
spanked a little more they wouldn't be over weight or need to drink hand sanitizer.

Can't work on a family farm till 18? What about chores? What will they do in all their spare time...oh yeah, the hand sanitizer thing.

I had the laugh at both the hand sanitizer AND the farm-work/lawn mowing thing...
My mom was raised on a farm (upstate PA) and she worked darn near as soon as she could walk (well, that's what she used to tell me).
And you mow lawns to EARN money and learn RESPONSIBILITY...DUH!
We ALWAYS knew that to spare the rod was to SPOIL that child.
But always be just as quick to PRAISE...can't have one w/o the other.
Heh, I used to have SOAP put in the mouth if I sassed...know they WILLINGLY guzzle the sanitizer...

If kids can't mow until they are 18...holy smoke! They are leaving for college and haven't ever mowed a lawn...how will they know how to take care of their own when they get one? I am glad my kids all know how to take care of themselves and their stuff! I also DID NOT spare the rod with my kids and they are AWESOME & AMAZING! Billie :)
