Are they better prepared for their lives together than his parents, who were rushed together in less than a year? William and Kate have had nine years to figure things out between them.
Most of the hoopla about "The Royal Wedding" fits neatly into the category I call "WHO GIVES A RATS ARSE".
Some have mentioned how many hungry children could have been fed with the money spent on this wedding. Well that could be said about a lot of things in life where people have excess and spend it on themselves. Fact is, there will always be those in need and those that have more than they will ever need. That's life. Might not be fair, but that is the way that it is.
I can't hate on the happy couple at all. Imagine walking down that aisle, saying your vows and kissing your new hubby in front of millions of people. They pulled it off better than most. I would have broke out in a mad sweat - tripped coming down the aisle, forgotten the words. And she was completely sober to boot.
OK OK I confess I did watch some of it, her dress was beautiful. It reminded me very much of Princess Grace of Monaco, very demure, not prissy, clean lines, detailed but not ornate or fussy. (copies of the dress are being made by child labor in Chinese sweatshops as I type this) She was gorgeous, he was handsome and my wish is for them to live long and happy lives.
The bottom line is this: The world came together to celebrate a wonderful moment. Is it not all that important to the United States, but it does show is that there is still good in the world. If anything this event lets us all forget all that is wrong in the world if only for a moment.

Now that was VERY well said...and you already know MY "reason" for watching.
(btw, one of the cavalrymen following the carriaage was tossed by his horse and I believe he wasn't hurt that bad)
Can't agree with you more.
Have a great weekend.
Stay safe down there.
